tensions are high in China. The people plead for Democracy but the government has taken risky extremes to shut them down. In an attempt to quell the citizens desire for change the Chinese government arrested protesters, this was not a welcome reaction to the citizens of China. American citizens don’t really appreciate the freedom that we have and the power we truly hold over our country, we take that for granted. America has set the bar for government and countries are following in a domino effect of change. in Korea however, change is happening and leading to better relations. north and south Korea have been on each others lists since the end of the Korean war in the 1950’s. opening the hotline doesn’t just mean discussing the Olympics, it will lead to a more formal diplomacy which will eliminate misunderstanding and we will be able to communicate with respect and maybe even compromise.
