China is selling an aircraft carrier to Pakistan. They are doing this to strengthen the Pakistani Navy and allow Pakistan to compete with India. In the past few months, China has also sold nuclear weapon technology and missiles to Pakistan. China sees Pakistan as a country that they could ally with in order to extend their global reach into the Indian Ocean. We know that China is already trying to expand their territory into the South China Sea with their creation of artificial islands and the Indian Ocean is potentially another place where China is trying to have more of a role in and more control in.

As we know India is a rising power and will one day be a global superpower because of its growing economy and powerful military. Currently they are more aligned with the United States and I believe that China sees this as a potential future threat to their power. So in order to combat this they are trying to strengthen up their allies in the region with hopes of counterbalancing Indian dominance in the region. I think this whole conflict goes into the idea of a proxy war. Currently on a global sphere the polarity of the world is multi-polar with the major global powers being China, the United States, and Russia. While none of them are currently at war you can see how each one is trying to combat the others and strengthen themselves. If I were the United States right now, I would be somewhat worried about the capabilities of Pakistan with regards to the new supply of military weapons and vehicles from China. I, as the United States, would probably try to strengthen my relationship with India in order to gain a solid ally in the region.
