About a month ago Japan put out an emergency survey that would intrun put 170 kids into protection programs. This survey came after and incident of a fatal abuse of a ten-year-old girl in January just outside of Tokyo. Her parents were arrested and it opened the government’s eyes that there’s more kids out their in risk of being abused and possible even killed. The month long survey gathered information from 37,800 kids and out of all of them 170 were pulled away from their legal guardians because of bruising and other abuse marks. Another survey was conducted by the education ministry. They were looking at the kids who missed over two consecutive school weeks. They reported over 12,500 students to the police and welfare centers. Although they are not certain that these kids are being abused they want the police to take a closer look. Better to be safe than sorry. It is very sad to see all these cases of child abuse. How in the world would someone want to and be able to beat their own kid. The horrible thing is even despite these efforts there are still probably hundreds of kids that will never get help and be able to escape their abusive caretakers. This goes around all over the world and I think there should be even more efforts to end abuse once and for all. This means child abuse and alos domestic abuse. Either way it’s a horrible thing. The main reason parents or caretakers hit their kids is because of alcoholism. When people become dependent on alcohol there judgement is impaired and they don’t think about what they are doing or how it will affect the people around them. So not only should we make the attempt to stop child abuse but also help people that are addicted to alcohol and drugs because that leads to a whole mess of situations.
