With the news of China shutting down North Korean stores, North Korea will lose millions of dollars in revenue due to their volatile rhetoric with their recent 6th and most powerful nuclear test. The new sanctions will be enforced within the next 120 days, closing North Korean stores based in China with the threat of them being alternatively forced by police to close. China being criticized in the past by western countries for not holding stricter sanctions against North Korea surprises some by enforcing this sanction, voted unanimously into existence by the UN on September 11th. Adding onto the sanctions already in effect, such as the oil and coal trade ban put in place, the UN hopes this will further pressure Kim Jong Un to look for an alternative ideology instead of a military dictatorship for his country. But some argue that a continuously stronger vice of sanctions by the UN may end up further pushing North Korea to escalate their missile tests to strike more terror into surrounding countries and territories, including South Korea, Japan, and Guam. Only time and diplomatic relations will tell how well the world will turn out with the North Korean crisis.
