Washington and Seoul could work together to secure the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">&#8220;We have a shared goal here, which is to bring an end to 70 years of war and hostilities on the Korean Peninsula,&#8221; Stephen Biegun, told South Korean counterpart Lee Do-hoon as the two met in Seoul.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">&#8220;The primary requirement for us to get to the end point is to achieve final, fully, verified denuclearisation of North Korea<span lang=\"EN-US\">,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I am absolutely certain we can do this together.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<table class=\"in-article-item video\" style=\"height: 5px\" border=\"0\" width=\"624\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<div class=\"mceVideoBox\">\n<div id=\"bcvid_5837478285001\">\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">In recent weeks,\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1rem\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/topics\/country\/south-korea.html\">South Korea<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">\u00a0has pushed ahead with efforts to engage with\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1rem\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/topics\/country\/north-korea.html\">North Korea<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">, raising US concerns over a range of issues from sanctions enforcement to a proposed no-fly zone between the two Koreas.<\/span><\/div>\n<p>Lee said Washington and Seoul are working to ensure both countries engage North Korea in a united front.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Because the denuclearisation process is at a critical juncture, we need to meet up as often as possible to make sure there is no daylight whatsoever between our two allies,&#8221;
