Even though issues concerning the environment are frequently in the news, they don’t seem to be as popular as other issues such as political and military conflicts. Without the environment our world is doomed. In Malaysia, the Malayan tiger is in danger of becoming extinct. The once thriving and beautiful creature is now suffering under terrible conditions all caused by human beings. The original cause of the decline in Malayan tigers was the loss of their habitat; they used to roam freely throughout the forests of Malaysian Peninsula. However, due to deforestation, they have been forced to live of much smaller amounts of land, the benefit is these areas are protected. The deforestation of their habitats permitted poachers to have easier access to these beautiful animals because the tigers were no longer granted protection from the dense forests. Because of the loss of habitat and the increased poaching, the Malayan tigers are at the brink of extinction. I find this devastating. Our society is concerned with the advancement of human beings and they don’t care about who or what they hurt in order to achieve their goals. If we don’t start caring, there won’t be a world for us to advance in. We already don’t have a majority of the amazing species that used to roam the Earth because of our carelessness and it kills me to see how humans are destroying our planet. There are supposedly only 250 Malayan tigers left on this planet and it is so crucial that organizations fight for their survival. There are already efforts of tracking down and arresting poachers, but snares are quite difficult to detect. However gloomy the situation is, I still believe that the Malayan tigers can recover from this and become the thriving species that they once were, with the right help. I believe this idea can be applied to all the other environmental issues as long as we fight for the well being of our planet, it can be saved as long as we care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The environment is probably the most important part of the world that we live in.
