This victory is a game changer for not only China, but for scientist and space administrations around the world. It has already been reported that NASA is going to work with the Chinese space agency to conduct more research on lunar landings.

The Chinese probe, Chang’e 4, landed in the Von Karaman crater and is starting its study on the geology of the far side of the moon, analyses the solar wind, probe the moon’s interior, and test how well plants can grow within the moons weak gravitational system.

While there has been experiments on plant growth aboard the International Space System, growing a plant has never been done on the moon. The probe had soil that had cotton seeds, potato seeds, yeast, and fruit fly eggs in it. It has been reported from the Chinese media, that the cotton seeds are growing and have buds.

This is such a big deal across the world because if these crops continue to grow and flourish, we can one day possibly send people up to the moon to live there. The idea of sending people up to space and being able to live in a stable environment also proves necessary for space travel to Mars. The moon is the perfect stopping point between the Earth and Mars.

I think that NASA should definitely team up with the Chinese space agency that conducted this mission in order to keep China in check with what they do in space and what they claim to control, confirm any data that is received so that it is not monopolized by the Chinese government, and to also to help work on this mission to make this a faster and better for the greater exploration of space.

On January 3rd, China became the first to ever land on the far side of the moon.
