Some of its policies include finding new methods to inspect the international market, improving the blueprint of foreign trade, and intensifying the competitive drive of all foreign trade firms. The proposal has divided China into areas of needed improvement, in the Eastern region the council plans to refine trade quality, the West and central areas are preparing to increase the amount of trade, and they plan on introducing the Northeastern region to trade itself in cooperation with the other regions. The plan also expects to broaden China’s market up to different types of enterprises.

I believe there is something to learn from this article, China has already made incredible economic improvement from the beginning of the pandemic unlike many countries, and now they are figuring out new ways to get even more of an edge over their competitors. By expanding their market to new fields, China could potentially be on the verge of an economic increase. Not too much will change in East Asia given China has been the sol leader of exports for the past decade, but this could drive competition with some of China’s trade partners. I believe this idea was proposed on account of the COVID pandemic and the desire to reach economic normality. This article is very important because it is the exact reason why China is so powerful with their exports, and how that will not change unless its partners find different options, possibly within the borders of their own countries.

On a purchasing power basis, China has the most economic power in the world. This is a result of the numerous countries that have become reliant to them for their exports. China’s interaction with all of these countries is an example of globalization; the widening, deepening, and speeding up of global interconnectedness in all aspects of contemporary life. Globalization was the transition towards a multi-polar system, globalization is not due to the rapid growth of one power, but the growth and interaction of multiple countries world wide. That is exactly what this new proposal is aiming towards, by expanding China’s market not only will they create connections with new countries, but trade with these trade agreements will improve the economy of many of these nations, creating a multi-polar system.

Link: http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2020-11/09/c_139503465.htm China’s state council recently published the basis of their new plan for foreign trade development.
