Xi was talking about how during the virtual meeting he wants China to work with the U.S. to \u201caddress regional and international issues as well as global challenges.\u201d Another big issue that they want to address is focusing on internal problems such as eliminating Covid-19, which will signal a possible retreat from global cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a major event that is happening because tensions between the U.S. and China have escalated in the last several years. Economically the US and China have not been on good terms for commerce as former President Donald Trump, began to take a tough stance on China, beginning with trade. Trump levied tariffs on billions of dollars\u2019 worth of imports from China, and put several Chinese tech companies on a blacklist that effectively prevents them from buying critical supplies from U.S. businesses. Since it is the first meeting with China with Biden involved, the Biden administration is blaming Trump for some of their bad blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This relates to what we are talking about with superpower countries. China and the U.S are known as the top 2 world powers across the globe and the world would be much more peaceful if there was not so much tension between the 2 countries. As of present day the system of government is unipolar as the US is considered the top world power. However, China for the last decade or so has been determined to increase economic and military power on its path to global domination.
