This is Thailand´s first ever high speed railway. The first section of the railway will link together Bangkok and the Nakhon Ratchasima province that is expected to shorten the travel time from 4 hours to just 1 hour. Local residents have said how important this railway is considering all the places this new railway will open up the public to. It has greatly improved the local residents´ living standards, and making travel more convenient and accessible. The railway will also travel from Bangkok to the border town of North Khai, and a bridge will connect this railway to the China-Laos rail system. This will allow people to travel all the way from Bangkok to Kunming, Laos. A general manager of the China Railway Design Corporation has said that progress has greatly picked up since COVID-19 restrictions have gone down.

Having railways is extremely important for the people of Thailand and Laos because for a while now the rail system and has been slow and ineffective. It is also projected to grow the economic sector in Thailand and greatly increase tourism. This is great news for Thailand and with the help of China will help expand their economy. The old rail systems have been exhausting and a hassle to travel, but will no longer be an issue with this new rail system. A local resident in Thailand has traveled around China, and noted how having a high-speed rail system has greatly improved quality of life in China. Analysts also say that the China-Thailand railway will not improve the economy in Thailand, but also strengthen the trans-Asian railway and promote regional connectivity. I personally think this a step in the right direction to the improve the economy in Thailand and also greatly improve peoples´ lives.

China is assisting Thailand in the collective goods issue through economic assistance and is strengthening ties. This is mutually beneficial for both countries because now Thailand is getting help from China and will most likely want to do something for China in the future. This alliance will mend relations and allow the two countries to open up their leaders for future discussions regarding the economy and other necessary systems. Its the idea of if you scratch my back I will scratch yours, and China hopes that this railway system will be the first step in the right direction in improving their standing with Thailand. Workers in Thailand have worked closely with China on this project and have gained lots of experience in construction and project management.

Link to article: https://english.news.cn/20221120/c81ec84f62e54fccaa5f42b984fa951d/c.html The new China-Thailand railway has just been built which creates an important network of railways between China and Thailand.
