The plans set out bringing in several new players in the security pileup in the Asian Pacific region in the case of an invasion of Taiwan. This article also gives some context to what Japan has been doing in the recent years, setting statements for %GDP used in defence budget to be increased, reformed security and defence policies, and with these talks a sharp incline of military relationships between NATO(G7 members specifically but NATO moves together) and Japan.

As a severe repercussion of visible increased aggression from China, they have only made their condition worse. The south China sea is now going to soon be on the prowl of NATO and every anti-China nation in the west, as a bonus, Japan has increased its defence spending budget by a near 20% increase. This was bound to come as a result of Japan’s long dormancy, now kicking more of their economic power into defence Japan now has the 3rd highest defence budget in the world with this boost. Not continuing aggression would make China look bad, and with the damage it has done to itself, if this continues to go the way its going, China will not be able to do much at all invading Taiwan if NATO security forces directly conflict and a full blown war is declared. This of course tightens China-NATO tensions as China’s options are looking worse and more embarrassing every day.The article also discusses anti-Russia and anti-NK possibilities to come lightly, mainly bringing up containment policies and help to contain China(brought up by Japan asking for NATO support, obviously will be happily supported to a certain extent).

Continuing our recent class ideas of containment, U.S restraitism, and geopolitical strategy. It can be observed that the U.S is staying mostly non-invasive of the south China sea, no significant increase to naval battle groups in the area, but of course their is much vocal support being promised, when the case the U.S is needed to be called up. The U.S invested clearly to contain China, and limit their economic and militaristic goals to gain Taiwan and whatever would come after. This strategy keeps them away from our allies and our homeland, while hopefully not directly combatting with the Chinese. U.S involvement and how this plays out if it plays out will be interesting to see with the renewed U.S approach.

Last Updated 1/12/23 Block 6 Following the events that have occurred in the recent months in the Asia Pacific region, Japan met with members of the G7 to discuss the plan for containing China.
