The Taiwanese government has stated that they have intentions to retrieve the soldier and bring him home as soon as possible. Deterring from stating how exactly they will, the Taiwanese defense minister, Chiu Kuo-cheng, has alluded to using different methods. Rumors have started assuming the soldier may have fled from the military as a result of&nbsp; abusive tactics, but Taiwan has denied any allegations. However, China has stepped up its political and military power to try to get Taiwan to accept its sovereignty, but it has yet to work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the past year, tensions between Taiwan and China have specifically risen. With the visit of Pelosi in August, that sent China into conducting their highest level of military force in almost 25 years against Taiwan. Specifically on Kinmen islands, as its proximity to China is closer than to the formal state of Taiwan. This soldier going missing and again being found across the water on China\u2019s land poses the question as to how he got there and again why he is there.
