In recent years, tens of thousands of people have fled Myanmar to escape the extremist junta and around 1.2 million have been displaced. In a new leaked document, the government has proposed a widespread introduction of firearms into society, but only to those that demonstrate loyalty to the junta. Letting citizens carry firearms will increase the prevalent violence that already existed within Myanmar, over 19,000 people were killed last year as citizens began protesting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Myanmar\u2019s military has historically been extremely violent\u2013 the Rohingan genocide in 2016 proves that. It\u2019s not surprising that the junta would impose laws surrounding firearms such as this, they\u2019ve already shown their hatred towards Rohingya Muslims and everyone else that doesn\u2019t agree with their power. The junta in Myanmar will continue to cause more and more civilians to flee, its clear that they wont abide by international rules and norms, the ICJ issued an order for the junta to stop the genocide in 2017, but there was no change in the actions taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other countries\u2019 grand strategies and interests include putting a stop to the genocide or junta in Myanmar. As the world shifts into a multipolar system, the role of \u2018world police\u2019 is no longer held by a single entity. In a multipolar system, it\u2019s much harder to have the grand strategy of liberal hegemony, or an interventionist approach, due to the fact that there are more regional hegemonies that may be opposed.
