Prime minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar hopes to strengthen relationships with china and other members of the Global Development Initiative (GDI). Prime minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has emphasized how COVID-19, conflict, and climate change have delayed pakistan’s attempts to join the development process earlier. Prime minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar asked for 5 specific areas of action to be dealt with, among these are; food production, infrastructure, industrialization, healthcare, and the “bridging of the digital divide”. In turn, China has offered up $10 Billion US dollars to initiate pakistan into the development process.

China has started offering aid to many countries over the past few years. These countries benefit greatly from taking whatever deal China has to offer. Pakistan is one such country which is in need of assistance, the prime minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar reached out to china asking to join. Countries are seeking out china instead of the other way around. China has built a large group of allies, not only around its borders but also around the globe as a whole. The countries who ally with china can be useful to china in many ways. China now has much more influence in the global arena, and china also gets a large amount of natural / raw materials from these countries in exchange for modernization. China is on the correct path to rivaling the united states on influence over the world.

In international relations class, we have talked about how many countries have come together to form groups with the goal of mutually benefiting. This could be an example of an Economic IGO, a collective of countries which all economically benefit from working with one another. In this case the countries that china helps benefit from the modernization, and China benefits from the raw materials given in exchange for china’s help. If the modernization of other countries works well for china then China could expand the Global Development Initiative (GDI) into a larger IGO with different purposes, weather militarily or politically.

Link to article: https://english.news.cn/asiapacific/20230920/a369349e9da14217a95611a11ae382c4/c.html The prime minister of pakistan has opened talks with china about becoming a part of china’s modernization program.
