According to local newspaper Pasaxon, this is under the purview of the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information and is financed by the ASEAN Cultural Fund. There will be a ceremony being held in the Lao capital of Vientiane from Tuesday to Thursday to launch the initiative. Khamsouk Keovongsay will be speaking at the ceremony. He is the Director General of the Lao National Institute of Fine Arts under the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism. He says that the goal of the project is to “promote, protect and preserve a safe and sustainable green planet for future generations.”

I find this article to be very interesting and very supportive to help protect the environment around the globe. It’s very important to think of ways for us to help preserve the planet’s ecosystem and it is very nice to hear that the Association of Southern Asian Nations is coming up with better ways to use plastic. This initiative will help keep waters clean and keep the animal habitats from being polluted. It is also nice to hear that they are helping to raise awareness of the need for environmental protection and help to strengthen the sustainability of a lot of healthy environments.

In International Relations, we have discussed important topics such as global environmental challenges and the waste of plastic can have a severe impact on the environment and in the ocean around the globe. We have also talked about inter-governmental organizations. ASEAN is considered a political IGO for its dedication to its global and regional organization between Southeast Asian countries. It is also an economic IGO because it’s dedicated to free trade, banking, tariff reduction and to increase the economy in Southeast Asia. This article is related to the core of reciprocity because Southeastern countries are cooperating with each other to help reduce plastic waste in the environment.

https://english.news.cn/asiapacific/20231214/cf6ba624d1a84b84a46a5d0d800d8ec9/c.html According to this article, the state of Laos and the Association of Southern Asian Nations are joining forces to initiate a culture of the responsible use of plastic, under the Save the World project.
