This engine was built with carbon fiber and is capable of achieving 1,971 kilonewtons of thrust. Note that Kim Jung Un is demanding better long-range weapons that can also work in moving vehicles (submarines, planes, etc.), which could result in imminent danger to the mainland of the US. South Korean spokesperson Lee Sung Joon said that they and the US are closely watching North Korea, because Un has put a stronger emphasis on long-range weapons since 2019, and he wants to build North Korea’s arsenal to use it as leverage against the US to negotiate economic and security policy from a position of strength. His desire to undermine America’s influence can be seen in his interactions with China and Russia—specifically the latter, having received thousands of troops and weapons to use against Ukraine. This breakthrough is very important, but how we navigate policy and regulatory systems is even more crucial.

This article represents a pivotal moment regarding global relationships and the power-struggle between top countries relating to the sphere of influence. This event showcases North Korea’s attempt to elbow its way onto the international stage; they also know that once they attain this influential power, they will have it for a long time because of their intimidating armada. That’s what makes this dangerous—any swift movement on the global stage will tilt the scales of power; this imbalance would then cause America and Europe to fight back, possibly resulting in another world war. This event will cause polarization in East Asia, because China so far is okay with it since Un made public appearances in Beijing and has demonstrated an interest in allying. However, South Korea is deeply concerned, especially because of how close the two countries are. While every country has the right to become more powerful, there is always a danger of causing a war or disrupting trade and global relations; this war-risk has become even bigger today because North Korea is also expanding its nuclear forces.

Some stakeholders besides North Korea are identified from the article: South Korea, China, Russia, and the US. South Korea and the US should work together to increase their armories’ sizes and create copies of the long-range missiles—that way, it’s not like this technology is a new commodity that can’t be tackled. Plus, if North Korea ever attacks the South, the US could help them by sending troops and resources. China and Russia should welcome assistance from North Korea while simultaneously improving their arsenals because eventually North Korea will pursue self-benefiting strategies.

The IBGP core includes development and peace-and-conflict. Suppose we don’t navigate regulatory policy safely and efficiently. In that case, the advancement of weapons will create an international conflict that we cannot come back from, especially in the era of nuclear weapons. Additionally, if North Korea abuses the power they’ll potentially get, then they could exploit smaller, underdeveloped countries to increase the amount of manufactured goods and maximize profit.

https://japantoday.com/category/world/kim-jong-un-oversees-test-of-new-rocket-engine-for-icbms-north-korea-says This article is about North Korea’s advancement in making a solid-fuel engine for long-range missiles.
