Rebels are starting to exit the last Eastern Ghouta town

BBC News- After a very scary and restless time in Syria, the light has begun to shine at the end of the tunnel. The rebel control has loosened in the Eastern Ghoutan area, and the government has begun to take their power back. The last town that was rebel-occupied, near the capital of Damascus, is expected to experience a change of the guard back to the Syrian government sooner rather than later. The rebels are exiting and opening up the floodgates for potential peace in the area. The pain and suffering is evident, though, and has taken a toll on the area. Over 1600 people were reportedly killed in the crossfire of government approved bombings to rid the rebels, and thousands more were injured and hospitalized; both numbers include many innocent civilians that have done nothing to harm the government. Since it was the last major rebel-controlled area, though, Syria went on the aggressive at the expense of its own people. Russians have supported this evacuation, and many buses have come in and out to transport people, though it is unclear at this time who exactly was on these said buses. This could be a gateway to peace in Eastern Ghouta and a much needed recovery time for the people, so hopefully there are positive updates to come on the finalization of the conflict at hand.
