So, after reading about Palestine and Israel and real accounts from people in Israel it feels like an issue that people aren’t giving enough attention to. I don’t know an incredible amount of background between the Israel and Palestine conflict, but I do know it’s mainly about who lays claim to the land. Israel who claims the land due to a religious background and Palestine who lays claim on it mainly due to the fact that it has been their home for about 2000 years. Thinking back on the decision to make Palestine Israel after World War Two, does make sense. Jewish people have been historically persecuted and really didn’t have an established “home” country. However the creation of Israel also meant the demolition of Palestine and all the Palestinian people. So I would just like to know why states do not recognize Palestine. It has been rightfully there for over 2000 years and there are people who lay a claim on that land that just got displaced with no options to leave. It is also difficult because many if not most Palestinians practice Islam, and Israel is a Jewish head of state. Making the Palestinians in Israel an unrepresented people in the government. However to the main point of the interest- what will happen between the two places? Obviously Palestine isn’t getting much backing due to the fact that it isn’t even recognized by most other states but Israel is, and they are continuing to hurt innocent people on the basis that they might be trying to start a revolution or some form of terrorism, which simply isn’t true and seemingly is an excuse to keep down the Palestinian people. So overall I think my question lies in what will happen to the displaced Palestinian people and will they ever get their home back or at last share the state of Israel- even though the likelihood of that is very low considering people never want to give up their land.
