With the tensions in the Arabian Peninsula rising, we may see a collapse of the GCC ( gulf cooperation council ). some countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia have been putting more tension on Qatar, and that itself can make the GCC collapse. One of the main problems the organization faces is the individual interest in the involved countries. Qatar has been seeking help from Iran, while Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are becoming more tied to the United states; even though the Saudis just bought a defense system from the Russians, the Saudis still are allied with the US. Another problem the gulf countries face is their neighbor, Yemen, is unstable. The country is controlled by the Yemeni government, while parts of Yemen are controlled by Al-Qaeda and the Houthis (both terrorist organizations). since 2006, the Houthis have launched 428 terrorist attacks in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, killing 1,298 people, and injuring 1,956. If the GCC wants to stay together, they will need to cooperate and help out their neighbors.
