For the past two months we have been hearing about the saga that is the Jamal Khashoggi Murder. A permanent US resident who happens to be a journalist that is extremely critical of MBS was killed and nothing has been done. MBS has been known to be very progressive but how progressive can one be if they are killing journalists in secrecy. The Saudis were first tasked with investigating themselves and the Unites States backed that completely and the nature of this murder is constantly being minimalized by President Donald Trump. In my opinion, if MBS has the confidence to plan out the murder and think that he could get away with killing Khashoggi on foreign soil, he has most likely done it before in his own country. Saudi Arabia has been at the center of many problems regarding the Trump presidency. It is the job of this President to separate himself as far as he can from the Saudis and protect what this nation holds near and dear: Freedom of the Press. The Press all around the world is known to be difficult on its leaders. Their job is to hold political affiliates accountable. The Trump Administration has attacked the United State’s press corps numerous times for Fake News. The same Fake News that is currently plaguing Saudi Arabia with doctored videos of Khashoggi supposedly leaving the consulate when in reality it was just a man playing dress up in Khashoggi’s clothes. Instead of protecting the global press, Trump would rather deceive the American public by saying that there is no concrete evidence that MBS orchestrated the murder. This lack of action by the United States and the rest of the world only bolsters up the countries like Egypt, Turkey, China, Syria, Bahrain and Vietnam, who jail or kill journalists every day to name a few.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
