Michel Bacos is regarded as hero for his courage when Palestinian and German hijackers overtook the plane Bacos was the captain of. This event took place in 1976. The passengers were split up, non-Israeli passengers were taken to Paris while Israeli passenger were taken hostage alongside the twelve crew members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bacos took the lead and advised all crew members that they needed to stay alongside their passengers no matter what, as it was part of their tradition. Bacos is regarded as heroic, while he advised his crew and made the personal decision to stay with the hostages he told them all, it was their own decision what to do. The fact that the entire crew decided to remain with the passengers taken hostage shows the leadership Bacos demonstrated along with the character and dedication of all crew members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bacos served as the spokesperson for the hostages, speaking to the terrorists or Ugandan authorities on their behalf. His bravery throughout the entire situation is remembered and valued by many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While three hostages were lost Bacos served as a role model to all people taken hostage or at all involved in the terrible crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
