The 2020 deal had Israel pay around 2.6 billion Shekels ($785 million) for an undisclosed number of vaccine doses So far, 5.27 million Israelis over 16 years old have received dose 1, and 4.84 million have received both doses, out of a population of 9.3 million, although some of the remaining Israelis have received the Moderna vaccine alternatively, giving Israel one of the top inoculation rates worldwide. Israel seeks to obtain 36 million more Pfizer doses with this new deal, almost closing it for 3.5 billion Shekels before a squabble between Prime minister Netaynahu and his defense minister Gantz over judicial appointments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This data is very reassuring when it comes to global inoculation rates in the wake of the pandemic. While the next deal is still being finalized, this gives much hope for 100 percent of Israel\u2019s adult population being vaccinated, and will likely help lead the way for other countries to do the same.
