Saudi Arabia is giving a loan of 3 billion dollars to Pakistan. This loan will be for one year and Pakistan will have to pay four percent interest on it. Pakistan due to COVID and other crises are facing economic difficulties. Their currency is suffering from high inflation and is becoming more and more worthless. Saudi Arabia also gave a one billion dollar loan previously for an oil facility. In October there was 8.2 percent interest on the Pakistani rupee. It is hoped that this influx of cash will help to slow the inflation rate of the rupee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saudi Arabia is giving this loan as they believe they will be able to get their money back with interest. This loan will also help to stabilize the Pakistani economy which Saudi Arabia would be in favor of as they are allies. Saudi Arabia has also given a loan for oil facilities which will make Pakistan further in their debt. This may be used as a way to make Pakistan purchase more oil from Saudi Arabia. This would be beneficial to Saudi Arabia since in addition to making more money they would prevent money from going into the hands of Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have a special relationship built on the views of constructivism. Both countries are muslim and have supported each other throughout the years. During the Persian Gulf War Pakistani troops were deployed to protect holy sites in Saudi Arabia. Many Pakistanis have also migrated to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has over two million Pakistani workers working there.
