Summary: \u00a0Jewish settlers have burst into several villages in the occupied West Bank. They smashed homes and cars and beat up at least two people said Palestinian officials. These attacks came a day after Palestinian gunmen killed and Israeli man in a shooting ambush in the territory. The Israeli man killed was Yehuda Dimentman and was killed after gunmen opened fire on his vehicle near an illegal settlement outpost in the occupied West Bank. This event threatened to further encourage violence between the Palestinian residents and Israeli settlers. Palestinian officials then go into more detail of the damage caused by the Jewish settlers including at least two people injured and multiple buildings and cars heavily damaged. It was also said that the Army is currently on a manhunt for the Palestinian gunmen responsible for the death of the Israeli man but gave no further details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Analysis: \u00a0This area has been one that has seen conflict fairly often. These two groups have been coexisting but not very well. In the past month alone there have been many cases of Palestinians killing Israelis and vice versa. These two groups need to come up with a better solution than the one they currently have. Whenever one group wrongs the other the other takes revenge in some form in this case they went into villages and damaged property. This constant cycle of revenge breeds only more conflict. The two groups need to come to some sort of peaceful agreement to protect the lives of those who live there. This conflict isn\u2019t new by any means. Both the Palestinians and the Jewish see this land as rightfully theirs so there is much conflict between the two groups because of this 100 year long disagreement. The British offered a solution to the groups which was to separate them and have them both have their own territories. The Jewish leaders accepted this plan but the Palestinians rejected it so it wasn\u2019t carried out. Since then conflict has continued and no solutions have been found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does this relate to class: This shows a conflict on a state level. This conflict started long ago and has been a constant and small scale tension between these two groups that at times breaks into conflict. This kind of conflict is also unique in the way that while it happens on the state level it is also very much an individual level conflict as well. These people have been born into this conflict and have been taught to dislike the other group by their parents. This dislike for each other has been passed through generations and makes it harder for a solution to be found as the current people fighting have known and been taught nothing but dislike for the other group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
