In addition, there has been zero motives that have been connected to why this attack occured. There has been an investigation undergone due towards this attack. The report states, “there was an attack on the cattle market in Aba by unknown gunmen who killed eight traders and 51 cows on Tuesday,” state police spokesman Geoffery Ogbonna told AFP.

This event is somewhat worrisome due to this being a new market that was recently established. Many ethinic groups in Nigeria come to patronize these markets. This is alarming due to the fact of many attacks towards government officers. This might be because of recent release of prison inmates in recent violence. I believe that due to the recent violence of crimes, there needs to be a reform in laws providing safety towards communities and public places. In addition, the attack might have been committed by a prison inmate that was released. I feel that if there were more security within the prison it would provide a safer environment. Finally, I believe that there needs to be police outside of these markets, preventing future attacks from happening.

Internal conflicts is a component we discussed in class. This is a conflict that happens within the state. In this case Nigeria is having an internal conflict of attacks within their country. In addition, Nigeria lacks the component of national security. This could be worrisome to other countries of these separate groups spreading to bordering countries.

Article link-https://guardian.ng/news/gunmen-kill-eight-traders-51-cows-in-nigerian-market/ Nigeria there was an attack on Thursday, eight traitors and 51 cows. “Southeast Nigeria, where separatist agitations are on the rise, has seen a spate of attacks, with more than 130 police and other security personnel killed by gunmen since last year, according to local media tallies.” There has been no conclusion towards if the attack in Abia… Read more »

[1

post-5041","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-article
["GET
https://baileyonlineclassroom.com/middleeastandnorthafricablog/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/5041/revisions/5122
