This announcement was made by the Qatari forign minister as he recently visited Cario. The purpose is to help strengthen ties between the two countries, and boost economic/ investment cooperation. Thai investment comes after economic pressure from covid as well as the Russian war in ukraine. This war poses pressure because Egypt is the world’s l;arget importer of wheat and relies heavily on Russia and Ukraine for its supply. This along with other investments and diplomatic restructuring has ended the diplomatic frissi back in 2017. The rift between Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE all happened over an embargo/media blitz because of the Qatries close relations with Turkey and Iran.

My take on this article is that the liberal view of international relations is the more popular belief among nations and politicians. With Igo, ngo, and mnc’s becoming more and more influential it requires the cooperation of these countries to function. With hardships being faced by many countries around the world, many countries are reaching out and making deals to support themselves as well as help others in the sake of survival. With the international community realizing they can’t do it all alone, especially with covid it has required most to cooperate at a new level we havet seen before.

This topic relates to class with ideas of the role of IGO and the importance of liberal theory for international peace. Liberal theory has its roots in cooperation and compromise and why it promotes diplomacy and organizations over isolation and war of realist theorists. IGO like tjh UN serve abog role in handling world issues and mitigating massive world issues and conflicts. With subsidiaries like the ICJ, and WHO. These organizations promote peace and cooperation among the international communities to quell any issues. This relates to the article because without this promotion of peace deals and investments could not be done in the way it has been done between Qatar and Egypt.

Link to article: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/3/29/qatar-to-invest-5-billion-in-egypt-as-ties-improve News has been spread about Qatar’s movement to invest $5 billion into Egypt.
