He considers these members the \u201cmost responsible\u201d for the Morality Police\u2019s crime, classifies this as a permanent decision, and is willing to invest $55m(76m Canadian dollars) under the Special Economic Measures Act\u00a0 to enforce its regime and prevent Iranian money laundering in Canada. This severs Canada and Iran\u2019s foreign allyship and military support, following a similar plan as the United States, which announced sanctions earlier this week. Trudeau plans to enforce these penalties through Canada\u2019s Imigration and Refugee Protection Act.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dozens have been killed among protests in Iran and many arrests have been made. A protest organized in Toronto had tens of thousands of attendees, marking a significant social impact in Canada and around the world. Trudeau\u2019s decision is lifelong, so it shows the seriousness of Iranian backlash and international support for Iranian women. Canada hopes to use their semi-influential voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Canada\u2019s past relations with Iran, especially within the last decade, have been dissolving at a steady pace. Nearly three years ago, a Canadian flight departing from Ukraine was shot down by Iranian forces after they mistook the plane for a missile. Iran was fighting the United States in retaliation of General Qassem Soleimani\u2019s assination, killed by a US strike on Baghdad Airport. The incident killed all 176 people on board. Canada has also declared Iran a \u201cstate sponsor of terrorism\u201d in the past and maintains some of the strictest policies against Iran in the world, though this is the farthest Canada has gone to hold Iran accountable.
