\u00a0 Just before Argentinas match against Italy, a group was formed called Argentina Fans Qatar (AFQ), was formed in June of this year. Some of the fans will be in the stadium and others will be in the fan zones. AFQ is Argentina fans of various nationalities, primarily Indian, Nepalese, Sri Lankans, Bangladeshi, Africans and Qataris who love Argentina and Messi, Messi being one of the most popular football players, and people are really hoping that his last game will be one where he wins. At a carnival for Argentina fans in Qatar, more than 3,000 people from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Italy, Spain, Nigeria, Cameroon, as well as 100 Argentine citizens and Argentine Ambassador Guillermo Nicholas, attended the event. The rising popularity of the Argentina team can be traced back to how enthusiastic the Argentina fans are and how popular the player Messi is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0This article is important because it shows how different countries were able to connect with Argentina with something as simple as a sport. To me, this means the country is probably going to be doing even better economically through their sports industry. Other countries could invest more money into Argentina, as it continues to grow in popularity. I think part of the reason this event happened because the history of the relation between these two countries. The history of the bilateral ties between the two countries happened because they issued a joint declaration in 1974 in New York, where the pillars of the diplomatic relation between Doha and Buenos Aires were set up, and that was the nucleus that formed the beginning of the relationship that developed significantly between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The soft power of Argentina has contributed the economic growth of the country. In fact, Argentina is the third-largest economy in Latin America, behind Brazil and Mexico. Argentina is currently in the Soft Power 30, which is the ability to achieve objectives through attraction and persuation. While I do not think Argentina will become a global power like the United States, one can still see how it’s global influence is currently on the rise. Unfortunatly, Argentina is still a developing country due to it’s low GDP. This also means Argentina is trying in everyway possible to improve its economic power, and sports could be just the way to do this. By making their sport, football, economically viable, it may increase their GDP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
