The strike hit 15 trucks that had crossed from Iraq into Syria near Al-Qaim. It wasn’t clear at first who carried out the attack or where the convoy came from but paramilitary officials said that some of them that were killed were Irainian and the area is thought to be home to a number of pro-Iranian military groups, and strikes near the area have been blamed on usually the US or Israel. The strike also came a day after a US citizen named Stephen Edward Troell was fatally shot in Baghdad. He was killed by unknown assailants. No group has claimed responsibility for the killing of the US citizen. The US embassy has said they have been closely monitoring the investigation by Iraqi authorities.

This article is important because it shows how the actions between both Iraq and Israel have bleed into the United States. This means that the United States will start to become more suspicious of the region and could mean more conflicts between both the United States and the Middle East. I think this event will bring more negative stigma to the region. I think it’s quite sad the way all of this has played out. After the war during 2003, Iraq was the only Arab nation not to sign a ceasefire agreement with Israel, and the two countries have been fighting in a continuous state of war since 1948.

Because the world is currently in a multipolar system, with the United States of America uncontestedly on top, many countries want to be the most powerful country. One of those countries is Israel. Israel in recent years has been trying to get rid of Palestine in order to have more geographical power and more military power. It does not help that the United States for a while has provided Israel with money to fund its military. Most of this can be boiled down to how all countries are in a state of anarchy, and how not one country is in a state of peace.

In Baghdad, Iraq, an airstrike on a convoy carrying fuel across the Iraq border killed at least 10 people.
