For the first 4 days of israeli control palestinians citizens were forced to live off the supplies they had at home, after the 4 day lockdown there have been specific hours implemented where palestinians are allowed to leave their homes. Even with these restrictions the israeli military is still violently attacking and killing citizens at will. Along with designated hours the israeli military has set up checkpoints throughout the city. Children are of course part of the restrictions, schools are locked down and kids are prevented from going to school, parents have stated trying online lessons to avail due to the internet connection being severed, further cutting off the palestinians from the world outside their house.

This has very significant international impacts, especially with the United States. The United States will not support the israeli military if they are doing these things to innocent civilians. Without the United States’ involvement both israel and palestine risk a very high death toll, not to mention the rippling effects throughout the rest of the middle east. The international implications of israel’s borderline genocide can be catastrophic for any country allied with them.

In class we’ve learned how alliances are a necessity for success as a country. The United States is arguably the best ally to have in the world based on their military power, money, and willingness to help in conflicts. So israel doing something the United States heavily objects to may come back to bite them in the form of losing an extremely beneficial ally. Israel should tread carefully and listen to the United States if they want a swift victory in palestine.

Link to article: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/11/5/like-a-prison-the-palestinians-in-hebron-living-under-israeli-lockdown The israeli military has taken full control of the palestinian city named Hebron which is occupied by 700 israelis that live in illegal settlements, as well as 35,000 palestinians that fear they will be “shot on sight” by the israeli military if seen outside of their houses.
