There was a US drone strike in Iraq that killed a commander of an Iran aligned group. Iraq is now claiming that the United States is causing instability in the country. It is also said that the repeated attacks by the US in Iraq are pushing the government to end the coalition\u2019s mission. Rasool, an army spokes person, says the United states is not following international law and are not concerned about the civilians surrounding the attacks. It was brought back to the common topic of Israel and Gaza. Mentioned the United States is doing all of this and not stopping the attacks Israel is making in Gaza either, which they have the power to do. There was supposed to be discussion between the leaders last month in order to stop the attacks but it hasn’t happened yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think the United States just needs to be more cautious about their attacks and bombing. They need to be aware of the civilians they are harming and always consider international law. They need to respect Iraq’s land and citizens as we work together with them. The US can’t lose Iraq’s respect because that could harm our trade by allowing them to close the strait of Hormuz. It could also increase the chances of the US starting a war. We need to have allies within the middle east in order to maintain control and reduce the violence. If that involves controlling the Iran groups that is okay, but not if it is harming our current allies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In class, we have discussed the past relationship of the US, Iran, and Iraq. Including the Gulf war which is when Iraq invaded Kuwait and the US needed to jump into the fight in order to maintain Kuwait’s sovereignty. During that war, the US helped to protect Saudi Arabia. This just explains just one strong reason why the US and Saudi Arabia are on good terms and influence each other’s actions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
