On November 10, 2024 at 6 am a bomb was set to a house with Jabalia refugee camp sheltering displaced Palestinians. Everyone that was living in the house has died, roughly 32 people, including 13 kids. It is reported that the bombing due to the recent military siege in northern Gaza. Al Jazeera\u2019s Hani Mahmoud, a reporter from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, says that the attack had been struck with out any warning. The house had been filled with women and children who were seeking refuge. \u201cThis is not about disarming certain groups but it\u2019s about a systematic destruction of an entire area and turning it into more of a wasteland,\u201d the Al Jazeera correspondent said. This was in referral to destruction of north Gaza by Israeli forces after October 6th. On Sunday there were a total of 3 attacks where 50 people are killed and another 150 were injured. Since Israel’s war launch on Gaza there have roughly 43,000 Palestinians killed. It has also been reported 70% of the reported deaths have been women and children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This attacks demonstrate the growing rate of Israel’s aggression in the war. There will most defiantly being a lasting impact not only the land but within the people. This event puts the perspective that there is no sign of the war stopping soon. There is a literal military siege which suggest there goal is control and power. I think we will continue to see similar attacks in the regions. I think there will be more devastation for Gaza. I don’t know how much more has to happen before more conflicts will. rise before more states become involved but at this rate, others will be forced to join to maintain balance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Israel’s reasoning, if that’s if you want to call it, is that want to stop Hamas from gaining more power. Israel Daily Haaretz\u00a0is accused the prime minister of \u201cconducting an ethnic cleansing operation in the northern Gaza Strip\u201d. The military and government believes they are in the wrong but many are calling it close to performing war crimes. Gaza has started to evacuate more Pakistani citizens. But there hasn’t been much talk of Gaza doing much else. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In class we discus hard and soft power. This is an example of hard power with Israel trying to gain power by using military force. In class we also talked about offense realism and this is and example of how some see it best to use aggressive means to gain security. This seen when looking how Israel’s main reason for this destruction is because they are trying to stop Hamas from banning together again. Hamas is a threat that Israel doesn’t want to fight again and they are trying to gain that security. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
