The carrier was seen moving through the Indo-Pacific region, as seen in photos from the Copernicus satellite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Included in the carrier strike group are fighter jets, guided missile destroyers, and an attack submarine. The move by the United States is seemingly prompted by the rising tensions between the US and Iran through the recent unrest in Iran&#8217;s capital, Tehran. One major point of contension is President Trump&#8217;s threat to strike the country to aid the mass protests that have erupted throughout the country.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump has been warned by US government officials that the US military will need more troops in the region if they want an adequate amount of support to be able to safely launch an intervention in the protest-torn country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The actions by Trump and the larger United States government pose a threat to Iran&#8217;s legitimacy and sovereignty as intervention would violate the Iranian government&#8217;s right to exercise authority within its own borders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the United States were to launch a strike, it is likely that the current Iranian regime would be ousted within days, as the protesters are bordering on a complete overthrow the government. The US has interest in Iran because of its trade relationships with other foreign nations, specifically China.
