This conflict has been very expensive for the United States costing upwards of 11 billion dollars in just a few weeks time. However more of an issue is the lack of money going to aiding the people that have been impacted by the conflict thus far. For example the UN has been seeking funding to support aid for world wide operations and have so far only been able to fund about a third of their operations.

This coincides with other different humanitarian issues that have come along with this conflict in the middle east. I think most notably this connects to issues of refugees and displacement of citizens within these countries and within the region as when these refugees are displaced they leave with them their money and their resources which creates a spike in need with the countries they flock to. A good example of this is food shortage where many refugees enter a small area and then begin to run out of food as a result of the spike in need for food.

In terms of stakeholders there are the United States, middle eastern countries, and the UN. First I think that the United States should do more to continue to support refugees internationally given that with even a small fraction of the defense budget they would be able to support millions of people that have been impacted in a negative way by the conflict. However given the current state of the administration I do not find myself to be of the opinion that this is very likely in any way as president Donald Trump has made it very clear that he intends to follow through with Israel.

This specific event connects with many class concepts however the one it most closely connects too is interdependence as well as human rights. First it shows how much refugees and those impacted by conflict rely on other countries in order to continue to live off of aid and support and when that aid does not come either due to lack of funding or being blocked it has grave consequences. Also, many of these displaced people experience other problems such as political and sexual violence, poor living conditions and more that violate their human rights.

https://apnews.com/article/iran-war-usaid-humanitarian-funding-e798b818617a1297e107495ef407fe3f This article is discussing the humanitarian aid crises that come with the current conflict between Iran and the joint military forces of Israel and the United States.
