Iran’s state run media quotes Qeshm governor as they are blaming a terrorist attack. There was only one person killed and four injured in the attack. Qeshm Island is 14 miles from an Island that Iran asserts control over the Strait of Hormuz. Right before the attack Iran government posted that they will not surrender which Donald Trump responded by saying that they want to make a deal and that they are calling constantly. Trump said to reports that he did not know if they struck the ship or not. The Iran and Oman talks have been postponed at the request of some regional. Day before this the U.S military said that they struck two Iranian oil tankers. The Strick’s came one day before Iran was set to brief regional countries on its efforts to manage/control shipping traffic through Hormuz.

The U.S. definitely did this because the terrorist groups are getting supplied by Iran and why would they strike an Iran ship. This cold enup to an increase in oil prices because less people will want to go through the strait. Also with the terrorist group taking control of the Island that holds a major port the oil prices will go up. U.S. and Iran entered negotiations in June aimed at a war ending deal but strikes continued despite the talk. I feel like this happened because Iran was trying to sail a trade ship through the Strait but it was shut down because the U.S. does not want Iran to get money to tank their economy.

Iran is asserting control over Hormuz shipping traffic while facing the U.S. blocked off its ports. The United States is keeping the blocked on Iranian oil exports, Striking Iranian ships and sites for retaliation on Iran attacking their warships. Globe shipping and oil markets are going up after Hormuz and Bab El-Mandeb have been getting attacked a lot more recently.

Some IGOs have weighed in on this, International Monetary Fund, they have warned that if this keeps on happening that energy price will go up and that will threaten the world economy. Anthro one is UNCTAD his body of the UN that deals with trading routes. They have said that if this counties to happen there could be an increased cost in shipping goods and the energy cost could go up. This is counted through class because a lot of IGOs are involved with the strit and there has to be a way to solve this problem.

An Iranian cargo ship was stuck off the coast off Qeshm Island in the strait of hormuz.
