Pakistan is currently in the efforts to try and build 18 markets along its borders with Iran and Afghanistan. The main goal is to boost their economies with more trade between the three countries and to curb smuggling coming in and out of their borders. The prime minister, Imran Khan, said that they are planning to set up three markets as a trial. Two will be located in Balochistan and the other will be located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The three markets will be open in February 2021. Interestingly, the Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was also in attendance at the meeting. He made a statement saying that they are going to be very strict against smuggling. However, Pakistan has also been setting up border crossing to promote more legal movement of goods and immigrations.
This is a good thing, all of these countries have been through civil wars and militant control for at least the past 20 years or longer. so taking steps to better control borders should decrease the amount of extremists and illegal goods coming though. This pacted will also increase the relationship between the three countries involved by increasing the economy. Trading for local goods will bring in more money, with more money you can build up the surrounding areas making its appeal go up. Which in turn will bring even more people to spend more money. Hopefully long term this can be a new constant income or these countries. They can always be in trade with one another and over time increase basic living in more run down areas along borders. Another big thing this pact will do is come down hard on smugglers through their borders. Less illegal goods means less ways to commit greater acts of terror. You can start to focus on rebuilding your government and your ideals without the threat of being attacked or harassed.
