Analysis post- After Trump tough speech, Pakistan scrambles to answer U.S

Pakistan is struggling to answer the United States, after our president gave a speech. President Trump would like Pakistan to help us stop the fighting in Afghanistan. He is pressuring Taliban to start to give peace talks. He also wants the doctor who is jailed for helping our CIA find Osama Bin Laden’s hideaway in the Pakistani capital. I do agree with the president on these wishes, they seem reasonable and simple tasks, well to me they do. These tasks have been “long-standing” and become more urgent, so it seems, since Taliban is harboring the other military groups are challenging our military. With Trump’s latest comments and our new support from India, Trump would like India to play a bigger role in Afghanistan. India is also one of Pakistans rivals, which I found personally surprising. Pakistani officials have lashed out at the U.S, saying Trump’s plan to bolster the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan will fail and that they are “reassessing” ties with Washington. Which is somewhat concerning to me since I really don’t understand why this war has been going on for so long. Also, Trump decided to send more of the U.S troops over to Afghanistan. Which is very upsetting considering I have family in the military and people who have served. Seeing them come back hurt and mentally devastated is so heartbreaking.

I hope Pakistan starts to come to their senses and try to make some sort of a compromise.
