It would be a devastating blow for Pakistan to become unstable. After reviewing the evidence I have come to a firm conclusion that Pakistan is one of the most important places in the world today. Every single neighbor it borders (China, India, Iran, ect) have a great deal of importance. Pakistan is the United States’ launching point into so many different global issues. If cooperation disintegrates then there is even more chaos in an already unstable area. At least North Korea has a relatively firm hold on power in its country (for now, Mr.Kim could always slip up at a moment’s notice) but Pakistan needs millions of dollars of aid to support is peace keeping force. Nuclear warheads falling into the hands of terrorists is one of the worst case scenarios in terms of global peace. The Pakistani government must be kept in power. However, they have harbored terrorists. They have gone behind the back of the United States multiple times. Yet punishment is so hard to deal out. As said before, Pakistan must remain stable. If there is weakness, especially in the Middle East, the sharks will begin to circle. It is beyond my means to figure out a way to send a message to the government without impacting their ability to govern. Cutting funds will send a message, but it might be a bad one. The government will be weakened, and yet the opposite will be emboldened. Every action is a catch 22. Its a lose-lose scenario for everyone. It appears like the only choice to make is the choice that sucks the least.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
I am deeply concerned over the US-Pakistan situation that has been bubbling.
