One way they are tracking the environments changes like the rate at which glaciers are melting by using technology like remote sensing and tracking from base stations. Pollution has been a major problem with India as they struggle with awful air and water pollution and also have 1.34 billion people living within their borders. Taking a non-selfish point of view it is obvious that the world needs to start programs and raise more awareness that the earth and the environment will greatly benefit with people taking action. In taking a more selfish point of view it is seen as we modernize as a society we can start to see the long term effects that a bad life style or living in pollution is going to do to us. I think that it is hugely important that India is taking these steps in trying to become less reliant on non clean energy resources because then maybe it can grow larger and spread to other countries that struggle with pollution such as China. With India being so dense in its size and population it should be a top priority for those that are having to breath in polluted air that they seek for help. This day and age makes it easier and easier to develop tools, set up sensors and cameras, and document the progress whether it be good or bad. People need to realize that if we continue down this track then future generations are going to see exactly what we did wrong and that is that we didn’t try. This article was important because it showed that there are people that are truly trying. While the earth isn’t in the best shape that its in, its important that we are making solid efforts to try and help the cause.

In this article from the Fair Observer it goes into further detail on how scientist are using advanced technology to help with environmental problems.
