{"id":3827,"date":"2019-10-15T17:49:21","date_gmt":"2019-10-15T17:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/baileyonlineclassroom.com\/southandcentralasiablog\/?p=3827"},"modified":"2019-10-15T17:50:02","modified_gmt":"2019-10-15T17:50:02","slug":"blast-inside-university-classroom-injures-several-afghan-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/baileyonlineclassroom.com\/southandcentralasiablog\/2019\/10\/15\/blast-inside-university-classroom-injures-several-afghan-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Blast inside university classroom injures several Afghan students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An explosion at a university in southeast&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/topics\/country\/afghanistan.html\">Afghanistan<\/a>&nbsp;has wounded at least 19 students, according to officials, two of them&nbsp;critically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The blast on Tuesday took place inside a classroom at Ghazni University, located on the outskirts of the provincial capital, Ghazni, Arif Noori, spokesman for the provincial governor, said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The blast wounded 12 female students, Noori said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials in the provincial hospital said they received 13 victims who had sustained injuries in the explosion, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.khaama.com\/explosion-reported-inside-ghazni-university-04198\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Khaama Press news agency<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/topics\/organisations\/taliban.html\">Taliban<\/a>&nbsp;group is active in the province and regularly launches attacks against the security forces there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last month, a magnetic explosive device attached to a minibus belonging to the same university detonated, killing the driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Noori said five students were also wounded in that blast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Monday, at least 10 people were&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2019\/10\/army-recruits-targeted-suicide-bomb-eastern-afghanistan-191007134005797.html\">killed<\/a>&nbsp;and 27 others injured after a minibus carrying recruits for the Afghan security forces was hit in the eastern city of Jalalabad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An explosion at a university in southeast&nbsp;Afghanistan&nbsp;has wounded at least 19 students, according to officials, two of them&nbsp;critically.
