Biden, who will take office in January, has said he would rejoin the deal if Iran first resumed strict compliance and would work with allies “to strengthen and extend it, while more effectively pushing back against Iran’s other destabilizing activities.”

In my opinion, the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal was a bad deal, but when President Trump pulled the United States out of the agreement, he took the U.S out of the process completely. Not only does the United States no longer have a seat at the table, the U.S is not even allowed inside the building. Russia and China have filled the vacuum and President-elect Biden now needs to get the United States back into the game, but with a plan for improvements to be made and a strong-will. Simply rejoining the JCPOA will not be enough as Putin and Xi are currently calling the shots, and they aren’t going to just roll over. Making the agreement permanent, and including missile development and ending terrorism are a couple ways to improve the deal that come to mind, but America must gain back its power first.

Although Iran’s exact intentions with a nuclear program are still unknown, the country’s dedication to nuclear enrichment even at such enormous costs can seem bizarrely counterproductive. We can assume Iran’s want for such a program ultimately comes back to the concept of the security dilemma, a situation in which states’ actions taken to ensure their own security threaten the security of other states, but who is Iran so scared of? Israel? The U.S?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.jpost.com/middle-east/netanyahus-message-to-biden-dont-rejoin-iran-deal-649885/amp Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a clear message to United States President-elect Joe Biden on Sunday that he would push back against American efforts to rejoin the Iran deal. “Do not return to the previous [Iran] nuclear deal,” Netanyahu said at a memorial service for first prime minister David Ben-Gurion. “We must keep to an uncompromising policy to ensure… Read more »

[1

post-4227","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-analysis-post
["GET
