It cited a report conducted by EU DisinfoLab, which found hundreds of fake pro-India, anti-Indian rival media sources (none of which were proven to be connected to Indian government). Pakistani foreign minister Qureshi has called upon the EU and the UN to investigate the allegations of anti-Pakistan propaganda. India has rejected Pakistan’s claims in return. Both the EU and the UN have stated that they would look into evidence of smear-campaigns and false information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
India-Pakistan relations have remained distrustful since the 1947 partition, and were heightened after India’s removal of autonomy in Kashmir in 2019, which was claimed by Pakistan. Pakistan claims that India is making efforts through the media in order to decrease their rival’s international credibility, an element of power which takes time to rebuild once lost. Although the media campaigns were largely anti-Pakistan, they were also anti-China to a lesser extent, especially being that China is the largest Asian power which rivals India. Pakistan claims that India’s subversive activities must be taken note on an international level, and believes that their spread of disinformation threatens stability on a global level– they claim India has abused international systems, and a full investigation must be done by the EU and UN Human Rights Council to determine India’s corruption in foreign affairs. As tensions continue to rise between Pakistan and India with the disinformation campaign as well as fighting over Jammu-Kashmir, the potential for a fourth outright violent conflict also rises. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/pakistan-india\/pakistan-accuses-india-of-funding-disinformation-campaign-in-eu-idUSKBN28M022 Pakistan has accused India of funding a campaign of false information against them to other global actors.
