The pollution levels were worse than in 2012, when they first started recording pollution. They are burning in 30% of Nepal’s districts and disrupting education and local economies. Millions of students were forced to stay home as Schools deemed the pollution at hazardous levels. The air quality index rated it as 174, which is almost as bad as China on a normal day. While the fires have also spread to Northern parts of India, further research showed me that these fires will not disrupt their society too much because they are known for having severe forest fires during their dry season. While they seem to be handling it, I feel like IGOs should be helping them out so a repeat of the Australian forest fires is out of the question. They do not have the proper equipment and because of this the fires will rage on longer than necessary. While democracies seem to help other democracies, it looks as though Nepal will deal with this themselves as the president does not feel it is a big enough deal. Although most of this pollution was impossible to avoid, it is imperative to understand that the amount of pollution in the eastern hemisphere is too high and the EU has and will continue to do something about it, such as legislation and regulation like the Paris Climate Accord.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Link: https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2021\/4\/9\/nepal-battles-worst-forest-fires-in-years-as-air-quality-drops Nepal forest fires have been adding to the tremendous amounts of pollution in the East-like a small scale of the Australian forest fires.
