These talks will take place in Vienna Austria, and will include world powers like Germany, France, China, Russia, and the UK. These countries are a part of JCPOA or Joint Comprehensive Plan for Action. This group specifically deals with nuclear deals and logistics of that nature. These talks will countie to salvage the nuclear pact that melted down back in 2018 between the US and Iran. These dealing melted down as Donald Trump pulled away from that pact which in turn, Iran breached limits of uranium limits which were set by the pact. Russian neggitar Mikhail Ulyanov has expressed that he hopes that the talks don’t start from scratch when they resume.

My take on the article is that this might be a good step forward from almost all nuclear bearing countries. Unfortunately I think that this is all a front from Iran. they are a cornerstone of Shia islam in the middle east and probably feel threatened by the sunni majority surrounding them. To be taken seriously they have resorted to arming themselves to be secure and also having the benefit of knowing they are on the world stage. As for the United States they follow the same logic and don’t want to trust a lying country.

This topic relates to class with the collective good problem. How do the world powers create a peaceful place without imposing on Iran’s sovereignty. Iran however is according to a realist view is acting rationally. With many conflicts in the middle east and outside influence meddling with their peace and sovereignty which is very important to a realist. This train of thought has Iran doing nothing wrong because they want to protect its interest and people. Their solution to solve the local and world issue is nuclear capability. The world in a realist point of view is corrupt and anarchic which makes sense why a country like Iran in its situation seeks to have nukes.

Link to article: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/11/3/iran-nuclear-talks-with-world-powers-to-resume-on-november-29 Iran announced that it will resume Nuclear talks with world powers at the end of this month.
