The reasoning behind this list is described as a result from the agreement between TLP and the government that TLP would halt its march in Islamabad. Last month TLP conducted violent anti-France protests resulting in both demonstrator and police officer deaths.

I think its important to look the fact that the TLP’s party leader Saad Rizvi was arrested over a year ago on top of the “mocking” caricatures released in France of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. These images released of the Prophet resulting in violent rallies can be explained as Muhammad is the political leader and founder of Islam itself which can explain the upset in devout Islam followers. It should also be noted that Saad Rizvi believed those who insulted Islam received the death penalty which can also explain the strides the TLP’s followers are willing to take to get the party’s leader released.

This article relates to topics discussed inn class because it coincides with a realist view. The TLP group feels the mockery of the Prophet Muhammed by the France school teacher is wrong and many Muslims feel it was rational for the French teacher to pay for his wrongful actions (even if that meant getting killed). This action can also be related to the prisoners deilema as what may seem like a rational means of defense may not always be the best one, for example in this case the yung man who felt it was rational and just to kill the teacher for showing the caricature images, caused unwanted repercussions for the TLP group and how others around the world view them.

Link To Article: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/11/8/pakistan-lifts-tlp-ban-france-blasphemy This article talks about the ban lifted from the far right party known as “TLP” is a far right Islamic extremist party in Pakistan that was formed in 2015.
