Over the past couple of years, Australia and India’s relationship has become closer. In 2020 their relationship upgraded becoming a more strategic and economic partnership. They did this in part with Japan and the United States under the idea of trying to prevent China’s rising influence throughout Asia. This planned meeting also is coming shortly after the United States meets with India to discuss boosting security within both countries. Furthermore, Australia and India plan to discuss the boosting of strategic, defense, and security ties. They also want to explain their viewpoints and priorities in multilateral corporations. I think this article is significant because it helps show the significance of India. India is not just involved in their area of the world but, instead reaching out to other countries in this case the Asian-Pacific area, and trying to control other regional powers. I think this is not only to help strengthen India and the amount of power it holds but also to help take down a competitor in China. Before reading this article I had never heard of the Quad (alliance between the United States, Japan, Australia, and India) but it reminds me of NATO. Countries banding together to weaken the influence of a strong country. I think as Australia and India relations become more firm it boosts India’s world outreach and helps expand their power and influence. This can be related to class because all four of these countries are democracies. Beyond that Australia and India by creating these ties with the alliance by also starting to support each other more economically are becoming more interconnected. Those facts can easily be related to the core of liberal theory. Both countries are using their democracy and interdependence to create closer ties. Thus helping diminish the possibility of conflict, not only between these states but also the countries that may rely on these states.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/india-australia-ministerial-dialogue-b608378b4a8e88e2d4db834947adeb53 This article explains the significance of Australia and India meeting in the coming days.
