Recently, the Pakistan military killed four people in an overnight raid. This raid happened to occur extremely close to the Afghanistan border causing the Pakistani army to believe that some of the militant groups that once resided in Pakistan were seeking haven in Afghanistan. In the past, the Pakistani army has been trying to crack down on these militant groups that have been residing in the Khaisoor area of North Waziristan district. These militant groups have been an ongoing issue for Pakistan and in the past have attacked different groups in Pakistan one time leading to the death of 150 people most of whom were school children. This caused an intense crackdown on these militant groups which led the Pakistani military to claim that the militant groups were gone after a couple of year-long investigations despite still getting attacks from the militant groups periodically. This is significant because it will continue to raise tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Beyond Pakistan sending immigrants who were seeking asylum back to Afghanistan. And the Taliban expressed their frustration with this. The killing of militants and how they have escaped to Afghanistan which is allowing them to stay would be extremely frustrating to Pakistan. These rising tensions are becoming more and more worrisome and I can’t help but wonder shortly is there a possibility for tensions to rise more how will this affect the countries surrounding them and if shortly, there is a possibility for war. This could be connected back to class using realist theory. This is because both of these countries are trying to gain power. Pakistan is trying to strengthen its country and in doing that they want to eliminate militant groups. These militant groups are destroying within the country so it only makes sense that Pakistan would want to get rid of them. This also is coming shortly of the fact that they are sending refugees back to Afghanistan again in an attempt to gain better control of their country and thus power. This also causes Afghanistan to lose power as their country now has to deal with the economic repercussions of these immigrants. Which is causing tensions to rise as both countries try to insert themselves as a regional power.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
