With a focal point of building a better industrial partnership, 180 Afghan entrepreneurs and government officials attended and new advancements were made towards creating a new transit corridor. This corridor has the intention of connecting Afghanistan with Kazakhstan and all of Central Asia. This partnership is essential for each country, but more importantly, for the regional growth and balance of trade for Central Asia. For Afghanistan, the partnership offers a lifeline to greater economic integration, making up for their years of political isolation. Access to Kazakhstan’s industrial capacity and cross-regional trade provides Afghanistan with immense opportunities for export diversification, agricultural development, and an increase in job opportunities. Along with this, it helps the Afghan economy reconstruct their legitimacy by connecting with other countries formal markets, rather than relying solely on aid and informal trade routes. For Kazachstan, the initiative validates its position as a connector between Central and South Asia. The corridor will increase the amount of regional logistics Kazakhstan is involved with, fostering pathways with South Asian markets. Overall, this enhances Kazakhstan’s influence economically, as well as establishing their political engagement with Afghanistan that prioritized coherence in trade over isolation. Regionally, the impact is significant as it promotes connectivity and interdependence between countries that can also reduce conflict. Of which, is ensured by their new shared economic interests. Neighboring states such as Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan also benefit as new transportation routs and an increase in commercial flow transpire. Ultimately, this partnership reflects an increase in pragmatic partnerships that reflects the regional shift towards cooperation, showing how economic reasoning along with common interests can redetermine the stability and geopolitical landscape between South and Central Asia. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The recent Kazakhstan-Afghanistan Business Forum and Afghan Goods Exhibition, held in Shymkent in this passing October marks a crucial step towards strengthening the connections between the economic state of South and Central Asia and their political cooperation as well.
