Explosives were detonated at the main gate and inside the compound, but a rapid response prevented a larger catastrophe. No group claimed responsibility, though Pakistan has previously blamed Afghan-based militants, including the TTP.

The attack underscores persistent security vulnerabilities in northwestern Pakistan, where paramilitary forces face frequent threats from suicide bombings and insurgent activity. Authorities launched investigations and reinforced security at key installations. Analysts warn such attacks could worsen diplomatic tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan if militants operate across the border.

A significant source of confusion for readers is why Muslim terrorist organizations are targeting Muslim countries through attacks such as suicide bombings. Furthermore the TPP is sunni muslim organization operating in a majority Sunni state. The instinctive assumption is that a shared religion should reduce hostility. Additionally, a common misconception is that most attacks by jihadist groups occur in Western states, but in truth, most attacks carried out by jihadist groups occur inside muslim countries. The reason lies not in sectarian differences but in political power, ideology, and the jihadist belief that the Pakistani government is illegitimate. Despite Pakistan not being a Western state, its mere cooperation with Western states such as the U.S is perceived as betrayal, fueling terror attacks.

What’s most infuriating to Pakistan is that Afghanistan’s poor border security is allowing them to escape in and out of the country. This allows the Islamist fighters to retreat and Pakistan cannot chase them into Afghanistan unless they violate Afghanistan’s sovereignty.

The TTP will take advantage of the Suicide bombing as a propaganda opportunity to show its strength. This will allow them to recruit new fighters and funding. Additionally, I predict they will exploit Afghanistan’s poor enforcement to regroup and launch future attacks. Pakistan, infuriated by a constant cycle of terror attacks in a proxy war, will retaliate through increased border security. This will come in the form of checkpoints, fencing, and increased surveillance. Due to the repetitive nature of the attacks, the Pakistani government will launch targeted raids, conduct airstrikes, and intelligence-driven operations into northwestern Pakistan. Finally Afghanistan will deny any support, and conduct minimal enforcement to keep Pakistan from taking matters into their own hand, but to allow the TTP to carry on with their terror attacks.

In class, we learned about constructivism and identities. The TTP’s internal identity is that it sees itself as a defender of Islam. Therefore, its strategic choices are filtered through this perception. The TTP’s relative identity to Pakistan is that its government is a proper Islamic state compared to the illegitimate one currently in Pakistan. We also learned about International security threats. For instance, Intrastate conflicts, which in the context of the article are the suicide bombings, because the TPP is causing instability inside of Pakistan.

Article: AP News On November 24, 2025, three suicide bombers attacked Pakistan’s Frontier Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar, killing three paramilitary officers and injuring several others.
