These resources are very essential for a countries overall economy and if Russia would somehow gain control to any of these infrastructure it would be detrimental to South Africa.<br><br>This is important because countries like the United States are trying to hunt down four alleged hackers it believes are involved in campaigns to compromise critical infrastructure worldwide. The US claims that South Africa is now one of the 135 countries that the Russian government has tried to try to disrupt their energy companies and infracture companies. With many officials saying South Africa is apparently on the top of list of countries they want to cyber attack it can very worrisome for them as in the last decade or so Russa has invested extensive resources into their cyber-capabilities and even spending millions of dollars and man-hours on the development of sophisticated hacking tools and techniques.<br><br>This relates to what we have been saying that agencies from many countries will get involved to help out South America which needs it as an underdeveloped country. For example, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was involved in this case. This topic can also relate to geopolitics.
